Carving Pumpkins with Ava

This is Ava. She’s obviously adorable. Gabe and Stephanie kindly let us stay at their house when we’re in Illinois and this last visit, I couldn’t help but follow Ava around a bit. Her pigtails are just awesome right now.

Patchwork Festival Photobooth!

Last weekend we were at the Patchwork Festival in Santa Ana! IWe can’t wait to share wedding ideas that we got from some great vendors there. Below are a bunch of our favorite photos from our photobooth at the event. We met so many interesting families. But the best part was the kids. They always have the most awesome-est personalities to photograph!

If you took a photo in our photobooth, YOU ARE AWESOME! We enjoyed meeting every single one of you! To find your photo, click the links to Facebook below. There are two photobooth albums on facebook for you to find and tag yourself then share with your friends! If you’d like to download the photo from Facebook, when you’re viewing the individual photo in the album, there’s a link on the bottom left that says “Download” where you can click to save your own photo! (If you don’t have Facebook, don’t worry, you can still look through them and download your photo.)

(update! we’re sorry the following links are down for the next week as we work out some kinks with facebook! they will be up again very soon!!!)

Hitched!

We got married! There hasn’t been an update for sometime since our 8 week engagement and whirlwind travel trips….but there will be more soon…very soon! In the meantime, feel free to click the photo below and browse a few shots from our wedding. Our photographer was Jonathan David from www.iamjonathandavid.com. We had a fabulous day…even though it rained!!

Think Outside the Aisle

Last month was just the craziest month I’ve had all year. I shot this wedding in between trips to Chicago. I actually came back just to shoot the wedding. It was really my pleasure to make it back. Caity and Brody were the sweetest couple to work with. Their love and respect for one another was immense. It was obvious they both felt that they had won the ultimate prize by marring each other.

My only complaint about the day was the horrible lighting in the church. I’m a jpg. shooter but I switched to raw for the ceremony. The overhead lighting was pink and orange which is a photographers white balance nightmare! I also added a side light to give some separation and more light to the already harsh can lighting.  At the last minute I was given the unexpected invisible boundary speech by the church staff and told if I crossed it they would stop the ceremony. Come to find out I was only allowed in the aisle which for me is not my favorite place to be. I made it work by going outside and grabbing a few shots through the window so the couple would have more than one view of their ceremony. Think outside the aisle is what I say!
Happy Holidays!
